Join us for an opportunity to witness sharp-tailed grouse dancing on a Colorado lek. We will listen and scope view from a county road before dawn using our cars as a blind. Low light and distance from the leks make difficult conditions for photography but satisfactory personal viewing. After dawn, we bird the adjoining grasslands for prairie birds such as Chestnut-collared and McGown's longspurs and Mountain Plovers before making our way south to Denver. We will visit wetlands and ponds for water birds and migrating songbirds. We may find a lunch stop on the homeward trek, but packing edibles for breakfast and lunch is a good idea.
