Summary

Enjoy a 3-hour birding field trip for Young Birders and their families exploring Denver Metro area's largest wildlife refuge!

Description

For young birders and their families, join Master Birders Sarah and Angela for a 2.4-mile flat stroll around Lake Ladora and Lake Mary loop trails in search of resident birds and migrants. We hope to find fall sparrows, corvids, raptors, and a variety of ducks and other waterfowl. Come prepared with binoculars, water, snacks, sun protection, clothing layers, and smiles. Plan to participate in a quiet "sit spot" observation activity. Study up on your duck calls (and imitations) and come with a (clean) bird or duck joke if you'd like to share!  More details to come for registered participants a few days before the day of the trip. Find the refuge trail and road map at this website link (may need to copy/paste it into your web browser): https://www.fws.gov/media/rocky-mountain-arsenal-national-wildlife-refuge-wildlife-drive-and-trails-mappd.
