Description

Join us for a biking and birding experience up one of the premier canyons in the Denver area.  Waterton Canyon, just south of our Audubon Nature Center, provides a unique view into a biking, birding, and wildlife ecosystem that should not be missed!  Cycle the 6-miles up to Strontia Springs, do a little birding along the way and a break for birding and snacks once we reach the top.  Have a chance to spot a Golden Eagle along the ridges of the canyon, hear a Canyon Wren echo among the boulders, or an American Dipper hunting in the river.  Riders must be at least 14 years old, provide their own mountain bike or road bike (tire repair kits recommended), helmet, water bottle of at least 32 ounces, and a light snack.  **This is a 12 mile round trip ride so participants must be in good health and capable of completing the full distance

Leaders:  Audubon Naturalist and Mountain Biker Rick Hunter and Kate Hogan, Community Outreach Coordinator
