Description

Bald Eagles of the Front Range: Conservation Committee Program

Tuesday, September 12, 7pm

Dana Bovey will present a talk titled “Bald Eagles of the Front Range,” which will not only describe the species’ success since DDT but also the challenges the eagles face now: the large cottonwoods they use for nesting are aging and falling down; residential and industrial development is reducing the eagles’ hunting areas; wind turbines pose a sometime threat; prairie dogs are being moved or killed; lead shot poisons them. What’s their future?

Meeting Place: Arapahoe County's Koelbel Library, at 5955 S. Holly St., Centennial, Co 80121
