Location
Description
Birds Plus+ Bats. Come spend an evening watching birds as the day winds down, then stay as bats take over the skies. It is a chance to see two different sides of wildlife in one outing, and you might be surprised by how many bat species there are in this area. Bring binoculars, water, closed toed shoes, bug spray, and a flashlight. Meet in the east garden area behind the nature center. Expect to walk on single track trails for no more than a mile, then head over to the Lois Webster Amphitheater to look and listen for bats at dusk. Alison will bring an Echo Meter Touch bat detector to help identify bat species by their echolocation calls as they fly overhead. Restrooms are available at meeting place and one other point along the birding route.
This trip is led by Alison Kondler.
