Birding Staunton State Park (Co-sponsored trip with DFO)

Description
This trip will walk along one or two trails in Staunton State Park seeking possible Northern Pygmy-Owl and other resident forest birds. There is a chance for early Williamson's Sapsucker, and maybe an American Three-toed Woodpecker, and returning bluebirds. Birds may be spotty and scarce so early in the season, but we can expect a cross-section of mid-elevation species. Plan for 3-4 miles of hiking at a birding pace on gentle to moderate grades. We will carpool from the meeting place. State Park pass required for all vehicles. Bring snacks and a drink and light hiking shoes. Restrooms limited.
This trip is led by David Suddjian.
