Summary
Description
Early Spring at Centennial is likely to include shorebirds, late waterfowl and passerines, and very early migrants and arriving summer resident species. Check out the bar chart! Centennial is an easy birding experience, surrounded by industry, and yet with a peaceful feeling. The habitats include the South Platte River, Centennial Park lake, the 'dry hillside' and the oxbow, all easily observed by walking 2 - 2 1/2 miles on mostly paved paths, with limited bushwacking. The leader will bring a scope; it will be helpful to have more than one. Be prepared for weather conditions with appropriate shoes and clothing. Bring water, a snack, sunscreen, binoculars and a camera, if you wish. Porta-lets are available at the parking area. A nearby hotspot will be identified as the trip gets closer. https://ebird.org/barchart?r=L270642
