Summary
Join us to learn about the crucial relationship between native plants and birds and how to sow your own native plant seeds.
Description
Ready to help birds while growing beautiful native plants—no green thumb required? Join us for a Winter Sowing Workshop that’s equal parts learning and hands-on fun. We’ll start with a brief talk on how native plants and birds have evolved together, and why native plants are essential food and habitat for both migratory and year-round birds.
After that, you’ll try out the milk jug method, an easy, low-cost way to start native plant seeds outdoors in winter. You’ll leave with your own planted seeds, the know-how to repeat the process at home, and the excitement of watching your plants sprout and grow—just in time to support birds in your own space.
Supplies are provided. Hope to see you there!
