Summary
Description
We'll explore some of Genesee Mountain Park for a while and then move to another forest park in the Evergreen area. We will see a cross section of mountain birds of the pine forest such as woodpeckers, nuthatches and chickadees, and will be hoping especially for possible Red Crossbill, Evening Grosbeak and Clark's Nutcracker. We will walk 1-2 miles, depending on snow conditions. Wear good shows for possible snowy and icy conditions. Dress in layers and bring a snack and a drink. We will carpool from the meeting place.
Meeting location: Stegosaurus parking lot just south of I-70, exit 259. Drive under the freeway to the second left turn. The parking lot is at the base of the Hogback, near the Hawk Watch location.
This trip is led by Judy McKeon and David Suddjian.
