New Year's Birding Blitz (Co-sponsored trip with DFO)

Let's jump start our 2026 Year List in a fun way on a bit of a birding blitz in JeffCo! We'll plan a route to visit a variety of habitats and look for some good winter birds. We can make a "little big day" of it! We may go after some rare birds known to be around. This trip will carpool to visit a series of birding spots, with destinations to be decided as the date nears. Plan for up to two miles of walking among spots, and icy or snowy areas are possible. Bring snacks, lunch and drinks. Bring a scope if you have one and we can share.

Meet at the informal park n' ride lot just east of the Morrison Phillips 66 clock tower. This is on the NW corner of the intersection of C-470 and Morrison Road. Take Morrison Road west from C470 and turn right at the first road and then into the lot near the gas station.
