Description
Join for one last birding jaunt for the year! We will visit two areas along the South Platte to look for a variety of ducks, including Denver's wintering male Barrow's Goldeneye. We might also see Greater Scaup and a variety of other ducks, geese (plus possible Ross's or Snow) and whatever else we can find. We will begin looking near Reynold's Landing in Littleton and then move downstream to the area between Evans and Florida in Denver. We walk about a mile in each area we visit. Bring snack and drink and dress in layers. A spotting scope will be helpful, but the leader will have one to share. There may be snowy or icy conditions. We will be on level paths, and may walk a short way along a single track trail. Restroom at the first location.
This trip is led by David Suddjian.
Meet at Reynold's Landing along the South Platte. From Santa Fe south of Bowles take Brewery Lane going west and meet in the parking area at the end of the road.
