Please join as we explore several lakes and the South Platte River at the south end of South Platte Park. In January, expect to see many waterfowl who have returned for the winter and raptors who have followed them. Sparrows, kingfishers, woodpeckers, and finches are also in the park at this time of the year. The plan is to walk 2 to 3 miles on mostly hard-packed dirt and gravel. Snowy and icy conditions may be present. Bring binoculars, water, snack, sunscreen. Scopes and cameras are welcome. A vault toilet restroom is available at the beginning of the walk near the parking area. That will be the only restroom.

This trip is led by Cindy Breidenbach and Julia Gwinn.
