Summary
Description
Let’s go birding at Quincy Reservoir in Aurora before it closes for the season on 1 November. We will look for birds on the reservoir and shores, and in riparian and grassland habitats. We can plan to see incoming winter birds, including an array of ducks, geese, and gulls at this time of year. Raptors can be expected also.
We will meet at the nearby Grandview Dog Park to carpool to the Quincy Reservoir lot, and can share the $10 vehicle fee for Quincy Reservoir. Our walk will conclude back at the dog park lot. We will walk the 2.5 mile loop around the reservoir, on level terrain, on soft surface trails. Portable toilets are available at the parking lot. Please bring binoculars, water, sunscreen and snacks. Scopes could be helpful if you have one, and the leader will have one to share.
This trip is led by Cynthia Cestkowski.
Meet in the parking lot for the Grandview Dog Park at 17500 E Quincy Ave, Aurora, CO 80015, just west of the entrance to Quincy Reservoir
