Join us for a morning of late fall birding at Aurora Reservoir! At this time of year the reservoir will be hosting an array of dabbling ducks, diving ducks, geese, and possibly a rare gull. The surrounding vegetation could also yield a array of smaller wintering birds. We will meet at the Aurora Reservoir entrance on Powhaton Road. There is a $10 park entrance fee per car. We can carpool into the park to save cost; please plan to share cost of the entry fee. We will head to the dam hopefully catch any waterfowl flocks flying out for the day. Bring a spotting scope if you have one, and the leader will have a scope to share. From there, we will visit other areas of the reservoir and walk along gravel and paved paths to see other birds of grassland, brushy areas and riparian, maybe spotting sparrows, a shrike and raptors. This trip is given a moderate rating for potential cold and wind exposure.

This trip is led by Carly Crow.

Meet at S Powhaton Road at E Quincy Ave, the entrance road to Aurora Reservoir, about 1.5 miles east of E470.
