Birding Prospect Park for October Big Day!

Description

This is a co-sponsored trip with Denver Field Ornithologists. Registration is on the DFO page and will open on 9/20/25 at 12PM.  Click here to view the event registration page. 

October 11th is October Big Day --a major international birding day and World Migratory Bird Day! Come out and join millions of people supporting birds by birding at one of DFO's favorite birding hotspots. We'll walk 2-3 miles on mostly paved, some dirt, some boardwalk surfaces, exploring 3 or 4 lakes and some woodlands depending on time. Expect to see some year round and early migratory ducks, plus shorebirds, woodpeckers, raptors, and a mix of fall songbirds. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and binoculars. You're welcome to bring a scope if you have one!

This trip is led by Shay Lyons.

Meet at the far south end of the parking lot. The park is located on Field Street off of W 44th Ave between Wadsworth and Kipling.
