Description
Let's explore Cherry Creek SP at a fun time in migration season, when we can hope for a variety of species, including shorebirds, gulls, swallows, and returning migrant landbirds. Habitats include deep water, marshlands, mixed grasses, and cottonwoods. We will carpool to the various stops and walk 1-2 miles. Bring binoculars, water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug repellent. Scopes are useful. This trip is led by DFO leader Mary Keithler.
Meeting location is the Marina by the west entrance. Meet at the Marina parking lot; use the west entrance (near Cherry Creek High School just south of Union Avenue on Dayton Street). From the west entrance, drive 0.4 miles. Turn left onto Marina Access Road and continue 0.3 miles to the end of the road.
