Description

Hawk Walk at Cottonwood Creek

Saturday, January 28, 9am-noon

Cottonwood Creek, a tributary to Cherry Creek Reservoir, is the site of a restoration project to stabilize the channel and recreate a natural, well-vegetated, functional prairie stream system. Join a two mile hike, on level ground, along the creek to help assess the overall health and function of the stream and wetland area as we look at native plants and for prairie dogs, rabbits and the raptors who love them.

Meeting Place: Cherry Creek High School parking lot (northeast corner of parking lot closest to Cherry Creek State Park), 9300 E Union Ave., Greenwood Village 80111. We will carpool from here to the trailhead.

State parks pass required for cars entering the park.

Leaders: Casey Davenhill and Cherry Creek Stewardship Partners

Registration required. No fee. Contact Casey Davenhill at casey@cherry-creek.org or call (303) 345-1675.
