Bird Outing at South Valley Park (DFO Co-Sponsored Trip)

Join leaders David Suddjian and Julia Gwinn for a morning of birding at beautiful South Valley Park! We'll check in on South Valley Park's nesting raptors, including maybe Great Horned Owl, Prairie Falcon, American Kestrel and Red-tailed Hawk. We may also see bluebirds, Golden Eagle and a variety of other birds of the hogback habitats. We'll meet at the north trailhead and then carpool to the south trailhead and walk from there to shorten our route and provide the best lighting. Plan for about two miles of walking on trails, with a moderate gradient near the beginning of the walk. Bring binoculars, hiking shoes, and a snack and drink. Restrooms are located at both ends of the trail.

Meet at the northern (main) parking lot for South Valley Park along South Valley Road just east of Valley Parkway. We will carpool to another site from there.
