Description

June 20- Native Plant Hike/Lunch w/Suzy Hiskey. Matthews Winters Open Space Park, Golden 9:30-11:30

Join Native Plant expert & Denver Audubon Volunteer, Suzy Hiskey, for this slow-paced hike. It will be about 2 miles with lots of stopping to view native plants and discuss the avian, invertebrate, and other wildlife that benefit from each plant. Discussions will include information about which plants also thrive in residential landscapes. You are welcome to bring a notebook and a travel chair to use during the brief stops and conversation. We will travel on dirt paths with some uneven surfaces. The trail has minimal shade so please wear sunscreen and a hat, and bring water. Photographers and Gardeners encouraged. We will meet at Matthews Winters Open Space Park, 1103 County Rd 93, Golden, CO 80401 at 9:30am with lunch afterwards at The Golden Mill.

The Golden Mill is located in an historical former flour and feed mill in downtown Golden, CO one block north of the iconic Coors Brewery. It is a "Food Hall" providing a variety of cuisines and a "Tap Wall" with self-pour beverage choices including cola, beer, wine, cider, cocktails, kombucha and more, some taps featuring local Colorado beer, wine and spirits.
