Hi, I'm Grant, a fifteen year-old who's been birding for five years now. My spark bird was the Western Tanager(which is why we are Team Tanager). I love everything about birds, from difficult identifications to conservation efforts and avian preservation. I'm currently conducting a research and conservation project on the Brown-Capped Rosy-Finch in collaboration with the Denver Audubon and Colorado Parks and Wildlife! I'm excited to support the Denver Audubon in their mission to protect birds and wildlife in Colorado by participating in this year's Bidathon. This will be my first Big Day, so I have an ambitious goal of seeing 100 unique species and 10 lifers (species I've never seen before) in 24 hours. Special thanks to my parents for their constant support and driving me across the state in pursuit of birds. 

I will be birding on May 29th(unless weather dictates otherwise), starting with pre-sunrise birding at Clear Spring Ranch near Colorado Springs. Once our tickets are valid, we will head to Chico Basin Ranch to see many unique migrating species and hopefully some rarities. Then, we will head up to Cherry Creek State Park for a short pit-stop at Pelican Point. Shortly thereafter, we will head up to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. This location will be our biggest chance to add and seach for specific species that we may not have on our list yet. We will also be searching for the Burrowing Owl - this is our target species for the day! After that, we will head up to Barr Lake State Park in search of raptors. As the sunset approaches, we will head to Chatfield State Park and end the day at the Denver Audubon.
