Summary
Description
Join Denver Audubon for an LGBTQ community birding event as we explore Wheat Ridge Greenbelt, one of the premier birding spots of the Denver metro. All members of the community and allies are welcome. No experience necessary.
The Let's Go Birding Together movement was started in 2016 at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center in Nebraska by Jason St. Sauver, and quickly spread across the country. These events seek to create an inclusive space for LGBTQ people to connect with nature and each other.
What to expect: Hopefully cooler temps, the start of "cool duck season," potential winter sparrows, migrating warblers, or American Dipper, and residents like magpies, kingfishers, woodpeckers, hawks, and blackbirds.
Meeting Location: Wheat Ridge Greenbelt Youngfield Entrance.
Accessibility: We will travel slowly about 2 miles over wide, mostly flat, wheelchair-accessible trails (both paved and packed gravel). Accessible parking spots are available.
