Description
One of the best way to see birds up close is to simply sit and let them come to you, a practice known as bird sitting.
Join us for a relaxing late summer bird sit in at the Kingery Nature Center (just west of the main building). Common species who visit our feeders include white-breasted nuthatch, black-capped chickadee, spotted towhee, Woodhouse's scrub jay, red-winged blackbird, house finch, and many more. Deer, cottontail rabbits, and various lizards and snakes are also often present! Don Hall, a Denver Audubon Master Birder and his wife, Barbara will serve as guides for the sit. Chairs will be provided.
This outing is accessible to those with limited mobility; the walkway and trails are gravel. Restrooms are on-site pit toilets.
Location: Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center, 11280 Waterton Rd. The Butterfly Garden is located off the main path from the parking lot, just West of the smaller building.
