Description
Please join us from 7:30-10:30 AM as we explore birds at the south end of South Platte Park. We will be looking for Sparrows, Warblers, Goldfinches, Woodpeckers, and Raptors. There is the potential to see cavity nesting birds like Northern Flickers and Wrens. Also, we will look for birds that like to hang around the lakes and river such as Herons, Killdeer, and Kingfishers. The plan is to walk 2 to 3 miles on mostly level trails that are hard packed dirt and gravel. Bring binoculars, water, snacks, sunscreen. Scopes and cameras are welcome. Dress in layers for the weather. A vault toilet restroom will be available at the parking lot. It will be the only available restroom.
This trip is led by Cynthia Breidenbach and Julia Gwinn.
