Summary
Description
Please join us for an invigorating morning as we explore birds at Cherry Creek State Park. May is the height of the spring migration and the park attracts many migrants as they fly on to their breeding grounds as well as lots of resident birds. We will be looking for a variety of migrating ducks, gulls, shorebirds, raptors and songbirds. The plan is to walk 2 to 4 miles on mostly level trails that are hard packed dirt and gravel. There are some areas where we will travel on single-track trails that are not well groomed. Birdwatchers of all levels are invited with beginner birders encouraged to join. This trip is not accessible for those with mobility challenges.
Meeting place: Marina parking lot near West entrance at Cherry Creek State Park.
