Summary

Online virtual program - Dr. Horton shares impacts of artificial light on bird migration.

Description

Registration closes at 3:00 p.m., September 14.

This virtual program is presented by Dr. Kyle G. Horton, Assistant Professor, Colorado State University, and includes a short Denver Audubon Conservation Committee public meeting.

Dr. Horton’s lab studies migratory birds and employs a range of remote sensing tools, including the use of weather surveillance radar data. His seminar will highlight his team’s work uniting these pieces of information to better understand how migrants use nighttime airspaces, determine where and when migrants are impacted by artificial light, and how radar can be used to forecast and mitigate these impacts.
