Description

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

We will be looking for summer residents as well as the year-round residents. Raptors and Turkey Vultures are common. Yellow Warblers and other warblers, vireos, wrens, finches, and hummingbirds use this area for nesting and feeding. Jays, Spotted Towhees, chickadees, and woodpeckers are regulars.

The Fountain Valley Trail is an easy trail with gradual uphill incline on the return segment. We will start early to avoid the heat. Bring binoculars, water and snacks, sunscreen, and sun hat. Sun protective clothing is recommended. Meet at the Visitor’s Center.

Please note that this trip is not accessible for those with mobility challenges.
