Description

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Audubon's 123rd Christmas Bird Count is a holiday tradition – everyone welcome: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. The more eyes we have, the more birds we see. In partnership with National Audubon, Denver Audubon supports the bird count within the Denver Urban circle on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

The Christmas Bird Count is the longest running citizen scientist project in the world. We'll be doing our part by counting a variety bird species in a few different locations in the Cherry Hills area. This trip will include some driving as well as walking along the Highline Canal, around Kent School, and in a few other areas within a mile or two. Please bring water, lunch, and wear several warm layers. What better way to start the new year than participating in the CBC. Note that this field trip is accessible for those with mobility challenges. The starting point will be at the Cherry Hills Town Hall map.
